Questions from the Wild

The resort is 215 km from Bhubaneswar — approximately 4.5 hours by road via NH-49 through Baripada town. We recommend hiring a local driver or taking a train to Baripada (Howrah-Hatia Express) and arranging our complimentary pickup from there. We provide detailed route notes with every confirmed booking.

The reserve is open from November to June. October–February offers the coolest temperatures and the best wildlife visibility as vegetation thins. March–May brings dry waterholes where animals gather — prime tiger and elephant sighting territory. We close during monsoon (July–October) as the forest closes its gates to allow regeneration.

Yes. We handle all Similipal Forest Department permits on your behalf as part of your safari package. Permits are limited and allocated daily by the department, so we strongly recommend booking at least 3 weeks in advance during peak season (December–February). Dawn safaris (5:30 AM) and dusk safaris (3:30 PM) are available.

Absolutely. We have a dedicated Junior Naturalist programme for children aged 6–14, a forest craft workshop with our Santali artisans, and guided nature walks designed for young explorers. All our accommodations are family-configurable. Children under 5 stay free.

Cancellations made 30+ days before arrival receive a full refund. Cancellations 14–29 days before receive a 50% refund or a full credit note valid for 12 months. Within 14 days, stays are non-refundable but transferable to a future date subject to availability. We make exceptions for documented medical emergencies without question.

There is limited WiFi in the main lodge and dining area — deliberately. Inside the forest, coverage is intentionally absent and we encourage you to keep it that way. BSNL and Jio have partial coverage near the main building. Most guests tell us later that the disconnection was the best part.
